§ Mr. Barry Jonesasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many dentists are employed in the school dental service in Wales; how many there are in Flintshire; whether she is satisfied with these figures; what plans she has for the service; and if she will make a statement.
§ Mr. van StraubenzeeExpressed in full-time equivalents, the School Dental Service had 87 dentists in Wales in 1969 and five in Flintshire. The ratio of dentists to school children in Flintshire and in Wales as a whole compares well with the average for England and Wales. More dentists are nevertheless needed and the Authority has been encouraged to increase recruitment.
