HC Deb 20 July 1970 vol 804 cc9-10W
81. Mr. William Wells

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what progress is being made in reducing the delay in treating gynaecological cases at the Manor Hospital, Walsall.

Mr. Alison

Both the numbers of inpatients treated in the gynaecology department and the numbers waiting for admission have remained fairly constant over the last 18 months. The board has to consider development of gynaecology services in Walsall with the claims to development of other services in the region. Emergency cases are admitted immediately.
