§ Mr. RidleyMy right hon. Friend has at present no plans for changes in the special development area status of the Chester-le-Street and Birtley employment exchange areas. Special development area and ordinary development area incentives, as appropriate, remain available for new projects and expansions in the hon. Member's constituency, and the Ministry of Technology will continue to draw the attention of suitable firms to the advantages of locating there.
