HC Deb 17 July 1970 vol 803 cc269-70W
Mr. Michael McNair-Wilson

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will seek to amend the regulations governing the number of signals which must be transmitted by flight recorders to bring them into line with those in operation in the United States of America.

Mr. Corfield

The present requirements of the United Kingdom and the United States of America are similar except that we require one additional parameter to be recorded in certain circumstances. The need for compatibility between British and American practices is recognised and is being taken into account in the formulation of proposals for future United Kingdom legislation on this subject.
