HC Deb 15 July 1970 vol 803 c230W
Mr. Michael Hamilton

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government if he will take steps to ensure that no local planning authority is invited to comment upon applications to extend an activity permitted after in camera proceedings without an elected member of that authority having been present at those proceedings.

Mr. Graham Page

Local planning authorities have a statutory duty to deal with a planning application unless it is referred to the Minister for decision. In the latter event it is for the authority to decide whether to comment.
