HC Deb 15 July 1970 vol 803 cc223-4W
Mr. Armstrong

asked the Minister of Technology what is the total expenditure from public funds to date on the industrial estate at Meadowfield, the number of factories established, and the number of jobs provided; and what plans there are for future development.

Mr. Ridley

£1.2 million has been spent to date. Four advance factories have been built and a fifth should be started in the autumn. Two factories are occupied but the number of workers employed in them cannot be disclosed. Twenty acres have been leased for private industrial development and over 90 acres are still available for further development.
