HC Deb 14 July 1970 vol 803 cc171-2W
71. Mr. Douglas

ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what was the proportion of the gross domestic product of the United Kingdom being devoted to gross domestic capital formation in the years 1951 to 1964 compared with the proportion in the years 1964 to 1970.

In the years 1951 to 1964 gross domestic capital formation amounted on average to 19.1 per cent. of the gross domestic product at factor cost. In the years 1964 to 1969 the corresponding percentage was 21.8 per cent.; figures for 1970 are not yet available.
