Mr. Pavitt

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he will publish in the OFFICIAL REPORT a table showing the remuneration per week received by doctors in the following categories, consultant with A plus merit award, A award, B award, C award, senior hospital medical officer, medical assistant, senior registrar, registrar, senior house officer, house officer and the average weekly remuneration of a general practitioner alongside the weekly increase which would result from the implementation of the recent Kindersley Report.

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what are the scales of miscellaneous salaries and fees payable to doctors mentioned on page 28 of Command Paper No. 4352.

The information about the miscellaneous salaries and fees referred to in paragraph 124 of Command Paper No. 4352 is extensive and I will send it to the hon. Member.

Mr. Money

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether he will consider re-establishing the Kindersley Review Body as an intermediary concerning finance between the medical profession and the public interest; and what steps he intends to take with regard to implementing the last recommendations of the Review Body with regard to the remuneration of the medical profession.

The Government have agreed to arrange, after discussion with the professions, for the re-establishment of an independent Review Body to advise them on doctors' and dentists' pay. On the second part of the Question I have nothing to add to my reply to the hon. Member for Fife, West (Mr. William Hamilton) on 13th July.—[Vol. 803, c. 121.]
