HC Deb 13 July 1970 vol 803 cc119-20W
63. Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether he will make a statement on his discussions with Mr. Rogers, the United States Secretary of State; and to what extent the question of a joint policy on the supply of arms to South Africa formed part of these discussions.

Sir Alec Douglas-Home

Mr. Rogers visited this country during last week-end. My right hon. Friend the Prime Minister and I took the opportunity to discuss with him a number of world issues of concern to both our countries, including the situation in Southern Africa. As is usual on these occasions, the substance of our talks is confidential.
