Dame Irene Wardasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if he has studied the Royal College of Nursing Report, a copy of which is in his possession, recommending post-certificate educational courses for nurses working in mental illness and sub-normality hospitals; and if he will consult with representatives of the Royal College on their proposals as soon as possible with a view to implementation.
