Rhys Williamsasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is his estimate of the current annual amount of contributions by employers to occupational pension schemes in respect of employees contracted out of the State graduated pension scheme; by what amount this exceeds the minimum they are obliged to pay in order to contract out; how many employers contribute more than they are obliged to do; and how many employers contribute only the minimum.

Rhys Williamsasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what is his estimate of the increase in contributions to occupational pension schemes to be made by employers as a result of raising their minimum contribution to the earnings-related State pension scheme or to an approved contracted-out scheme to 10 Per cent. of all earnings up to £5,000 a year.
