HC Deb 13 July 1970 vol 803 c137W
Mr. Arthur Lewis

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he is aware that the Metropolitan Police give motorists automatic ticket fines for waiting short periods on yellow banded areas; and why they do not take action against lorries which are parked all day and all night causing obstruction in narrow roads and streets, and which have no road fund licences.

Mr. Sharples

The action taken by the Metropolitan police to enforce the law is the responsibility of the Commissioner of Police.
