Mr. Barry Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what are the Government's plans for local government reorganisation in North Wales.

I would refer the hon. Member to my reply to the hon. Member for Cardigan (Mr. Elystan Morgan) on 6th July, 1970.—[Vol. 803, c. 299.]

Mr. Elystan Morgan

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will give an undertaking that in any reorganisation of local government in Wales he will retain the identity of Cardiganshire.

Mr. Elystan Morgan

asked the Secretary of State for Wales when he will announce his proposals for local government reorganisation in Wales; and what preliminary consultations he proposes to have with Welsh local authorities and Welsh local authority bodies.
