§ Mr. NobleAn undertaking was given on 28th January, 1970, to support the proposal for a National Exhibition Centre near Birmingham. Her Majesty's Government have reconsidered this undertaking in the light of the substantial progress made by Birmingham and of further representations made by the Greater London Council.
I have today informed the Greater London Council and the Birmingham authorities that we have decided to reaffirm the Government's support for the Birmingham project in the terms announced by my predecessor.
