asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what steps he proposes to take to attract new industry to the Tayside area.

Mr. Gordon Campbell

The Government will pursue policies of regional development to encourage industrial development in the area, and the Tayside Study, shortly to be published, can be expected to indicate specific potentialities for further development. The decision last week by the Michelin Tyre Company to establish a plant in Dundee indicates the eminent suitability of the area for new industry.
