§ Mr. Elystan Morganasked the Minister of Transport if he will give an assurance that he will not give his approval to the closure of the Aberystwyth to Shrewsbury railway line, the rail link serving Mid-Wales.
§ Mr. PeytonThere is no current proposal to close this line. The undertaking to pay grant for the service between Shrewsbury and Aberystwyth expires at the end of this year. I am expecting an application from the Railways Board for a further grant undertaking within the next few months and shall, of course, consider it carefully.
