HC Deb 29 January 1970 vol 794 c402W
Mrs. Renée Short

asked the Minister of Technology what fees are paid by private industry for work carried out on its behalf by Government research establishments under his control; and how these are calculated.

Dr. Ernest A. Davies

A range of charges is made, depending on the nature of the work and the staff effort and facilities needed for it. Broadly, the charges are aimed at recovering from industry the full economic cost of the work, except in co-operative projects, where costs are shared with firms on an agreed basis.
