HC Deb 28 January 1970 vol 794 c348W
Mr. J. H. Osborn

asked the President of the Board of Trade what backing he gave to overseas investment projects by British industry in 1969; what was the total capital value involved; what estimate he has made of the value of British capital equipment exports resulting from this, and of the value guaranteed by the Export Credit Guarantee Department; and if he will give similar figures for the past three years.

Mr. Mason

Private direct investment overseas (excluding oil) was running in the first three quarters of 1969 at an annual rate of £505 million, a substantial increase on the figures for the three previous years. The other information asked for is not available.
