HC Deb 28 January 1970 vol 794 cc354-5W
Mr. Rippon

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how many tons of Chinese frozen rabbit were imported last year and at what price; and whether he has now considered the effects of their imports upon the home producer of rabbits.

Mr. Hoy

Six thousand two hundred and forty-five tons of rabbit meat valued at £1,462,947 were imported from China during the period 1st January to 30th November, 1969. Later figures are not available.

The possibility of an application under the anti-dumping legislation is being discussed by representatives of home producers with the Board of Trade. The Department is keeping in close touch with the progress of the discussions.
