HC Deb 27 January 1970 vol 794 c294W
50. Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Minister of Transport how many properties belonging to British Railways are available for sale to the nearest available date; and what is the average time taken to receive authority for such sales to proceed to completion.

Mr. Murray

The British Railways Board is responsible for disposing of its surplus property. I understand that it completed about 2,500 sales in 1969, but information about the number of properties for sale at any given time is not readily available. In normal circumstances it authorises a sale within about a month of agreement on a price.
