HC Deb 27 January 1970 vol 794 cc295-6W
57. Mr. Higgins

asked the Minister of Transport if he will now ask the appropriate transport users' consultative committee for a report on the effects of weather on the operations of British Railways, Southern Region, in view of the fact that the information made available to passengers about cancellations and delays is inadequate.

Mr. Murray

No. My right hon. Friend does not think it appropriate to refer this matter to the Consultative Committee. It is, of course, always open to the committees to look into this aspect of the problem if they think it right: indeed, I know that the Central Committee has recently put some views to the Railways Board.
