HC Deb 27 January 1970 vol 794 c290W
27. Mr. J. H. Osborn

asked the Minister of Transport what was the total capital expenditure incurred by British Railways on new passenger locomotives, passenger rolling stock, freight locomotives and freight rolling stock, respectively, during 1969.

Mr. Murray

The British Railways Board informs me that in 1969 there was no capital expenditure on new locomotives. Its provisional figures show that about £13 million was spent on new passenger rolling stock and about £6 million on new freight rolling stock.
