HC Deb 27 January 1970 vol 794 c304W
80. Mr. Speed

asked the Minister of Transport if he will give a general direction to the National Bus Company to make an investigation into the present standard and quality of passenger services provided by its subsidiary companies, and publish the results of the investigation.

Mr. Mulley

I do not consider a general direction either appropriate or necessary. The National Bus Company is aware of the deficiencies in some of the services, primarily owing to staff shortages, and is making strenuous efforts to overcome them.
