§ Mr. CroslandI am leading a strong delegation to the European Conservation Conference which the Council of Europe is holding at Strasbourg next month to inaugurate European Conservation Year. The Government are arranging and participating in numerous activities in this country, such as conferences, exhibitions and competitions, in order to further the aims of the Year.
The United Kingdom is already recognised as one of the leading nations of the world in the development of pollution control, and my right hon. Friend the Prime Minister has already announced the steps being taken to strengthen our machinery.
