HC Deb 26 January 1970 vol 794 c283W
Mr. Lawler

asked the Secretary of Stare for the Home Department if he will undertake to give prompt consideration to the current pay claim of the police, in view of the fact that their average net pay is now about 10s. per week less than it was before their last pay rise, due to increased superannuation and graduated pensions contributions.

Mr. Callaghan

It is for the Police Council to consider any pay claim made on behalf of the police, and I understand that it will begin a review on 30th January.
