§ Mr. PeartComplete statistics are only available from mid-1968 onwards, and these show that up till the end of 1969 four cases of theft from Members' lockers have been reported, and the total value of the property stolen is estimated at £62 10s. 0d. The Ministry of Public Building and Works has been requested to fit improved locks to Members' lockers.

The total value of money reported lost was £167 15s. 6d., and the total value of other property is estimated at £202 19s. 3d.
Steps are being taken by the Serjeant at Arms to improve the security of Members' rooms, following recommendations by the Crime Prevention Department, New Scotland Yard, but the complete elimination of pilfering is virtually impossible in a building of this nature.
