HC Deb 23 January 1970 vol 794 c210W
Mrs. Ewing

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer why net receipts of selective employment tax attributable to Scotland in 1967–68 amounted to only £30 million of 6.4 of the United Kingdom total, as compared with an estimated £57 million, or 9.4 per cent. of the United Kingdom total in the current financial year.

Mr. William Rodgers

For both 1967–68 and a full year at the current rates the estimated net yield of S.E.T. from the private sector and public corporations in Scotland represents about 9.5 per cent. of the total net yield for Great Britain or about 6.4 per cent. of the current receipts for the United Kingdom as defined for the National Income Accounts.
