HC Deb 21 January 1970 vol 794 cc139-40W
51. Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for Defence whether he will make a statement about the recent joint exercises in Kenya; and what other such exercises there are elsewhere are planned.

Mr. Hattersley

I assume that the hon. Gentleman is referring to joint exercises with the Kenyans. No such exercises have been held in Kenya recently, though we do hold British Army exercises there from time to time. Our forces have a continuing and extensive programme of exercises which includes joint exercises with certain other Commonwealth countries and also many arranged by international treaty organisations, particularly N.A.T.O.
