HC Deb 21 January 1970 vol 794 c132W
45. Mr. Pavitt

asked the President of the Board of Trade when the technical discussions with Indian officials on the new tariff to be imposed on Indian textiles will start; where they will be held; and if he will make a statement.

Mrs. Gwyneth Dunwoody

It was agreed during discussions between British and Indian officials in New Delhi in December that a meeting at technical level involving the cotton textile industries of the two countries would be arranged as a prelude to further discussions between Governments. The Ministry of Technology is in touch with the industry here and with India about the arrangements for this.
