HC Deb 20 January 1970 vol 794 c102W
Mr. John Lee

asked the Minister of Housing and Local Government how many local authorities in England and Wales have applied for grants to assist in land reclamation during the last 12 months; and what is the total value of the money disbursed for this purpose.

Mr. Skeffington

Derelict land reclamation schemes submitted by 58 local authorities in England were approved for grant in 1969. Grants paid during the same period, but not necessarily in respect of the same schemes, amounted to £389,294. These included both capital and revenue grants. Figures relative to applications made are not immediately available. Information relating to Wales is a matter for my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State.
