HC Deb 20 January 1970 vol 794 c92W
58. Mr. Hooley

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether Her Majesty's Government will take an initiative within the organs of the United Nations in response to General Assembly Resolution 2565 asking for a link between special drawing rights and aid to developing countries.

Mr. Tavern

I am sure there will be further discussion of this idea within the U.N.C.T.A.D. and elsewhere, but I see no useful purpose to be served by Britain taking any special initiative at present.
