§ 84 and 85. Dame Irene Wardasked the Secretary of State for Social Services (1) if he will make a statement on the progress of negotiations for a salary increase for physiotherapists; and if he will state the date on which the claim was referred to the National Whitley Council;
(2) if he will make a statement on the result of the Whitley Council negotiations on nurses' salaries.
§ Mr. CrossmanA substantial offer reflecting recognition of the special considerations applying to nurses' pay was made in the Nurses and Midwives Whitley Council on 13th January and is being considered by the Staff Side with a view to further discussion on 27th January. Negotiations on a claim made on 12th December for physiotherapists and other professions supplementary to medicine will take place on 28th January.
