§ Mr. Eldon Griffithsasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will state the circumstances in which a British subject serving as Reuter's correspondent was recently expelled from Addis Ababa; and what explanation he has received from the Ethiopian Government.
§ Mr. LuardReuter's correspondent in Addis Ababa was detained by the Ethiopian Security Police on 30th 27W December, 1969, and ordered to leave the country within 24 hours. Our Embassy has asked the Ethiopian authorities for an explanation for this expulsion and I will convey the answer to the hon. Member as soon as it is received.
