§ 95 and 96. Mr. Oakesasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) what representations he has received about the possible harmful dermatological effects of enzyme detergents on consumers and workers employed in their manufacture; and what action he is taking;
(2) if he will set up an investigation into the manufacture and use of enzyme detergents with particular reference to possible effects on consumers.
§ Mr. Merlyn ReesA small number of complaints have been received from members of the public that they have been adversely affected by enzyme washing powders: I am arranging for further inquiries to be made and will consider in the light of their outcome whether further action is necessary.
