HC Deb 19 January 1970 vol 794 c52W
Mr. Bishop

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity if she will detail the variations in the salaries paid to engineering draughtsmen and tracers in the period 1963 to date, with percentage changes in each change.

Mr. Harold Walker

Nationally agreed basic incremental pay scales for engineering draughtsmen and tracers were first introduced in August, 1965 and revised in July, 1968 and January, 1970. There are separate rates for London and the provinces and for each year of age below 30 for draughtsmen and 25 for female tracers. The effect of the revisions in percentage terms varied within these scales. The following relate to men aged 30 and over and women aged 25 and over and to the provinces. London rates are £1 higher and so the percentage increases in London have been lower.
