HC Deb 19 January 1970 vol 794 c77W
Mr. Hugh Jenkins

asked the President of the Board of Trade whether he will refuse to allow the Boeing 747 to use Heathrow and Gatwick airports if it proves to be unable to meet the existing noise limitations.

Mr. Goronwy Roberts

The Boeing 747 will be required to meet the noise limits at Heathrow like other aircraft. I have no reason to expect that it will be unable to do so. There are no proposals to operate the aircraft at Gatwick.
