§ Mr. Pinkasked the Secretary of State for Defence how many of the electrical drillers in Portsmouth Dockyard, who because of union representations were stopped from doing electrical fitting work, are still not fully employed but are receiving full pay; and how much has been paid out to these men by way of wages and other emoluments.
§ Dr. David OwenAt present three men out of the 17 originally affected are on full waiting time and everything is being done to find full employment for them and the whole position is still under active discussion with the Trade Unions. Their wages, since the trade unions representations, have been about £2,400 but this figure includes some earnings for periods when they have had active employment.
