§ Mr. Leslie Huckfieldasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) if he will take steps to reduce the overlap and duplication of transfer payment services between the Paymaster-General's office and the National Giro;
(2) if he will take steps to arrange for transferring payments from the Paymaster-General's office into transfer payments through the National Giro.
§ Mr. TaverneMy responsibility is limited to the services provided by the Paymaster-General's Office. Before modifying any of them I should need to be convinced that it was more efficient and economical to do so.
