§ 40. Mr. Dudley Smithasked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity how many representations she has received from all sources over the past six months about the operation of the Industrial Training Act; which industrial training boards received the greatest volume of complaints; and if she will make a statement.
§ Mr. DellAbout 200 letters in the last six months. Considerably more than half of them concerned the 1970 levy proposals of the Construction Industry Training Board and were for the most part received before those proposals were finalised by the board.
§ 41. Mr. Dudley Smithasked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity if she is satisfied with the current overall operation of the Industrial Training Act; and if she will make a statement.
§ Mr. DellI agree with the hon. Member's own statement in the recent debate on Second Reading of the Industrial Training Bill that most fair-minded people would agree that the overall effect of the Act has been beneficial. That does not mean there are no problems.
