§ Q7. Mr. Oakesasked the Prime Minister if he will refer the problem of derelict industrial land as a matter of priority to the Royal Commission on Pollution and the Environment.
§ The Prime MinisterIn so far as pollution causes dereliction this matter will come within the scope of the Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution. The clearance of derelict industrial land was however considered by the Hunt. Committee and, in response to their recommendations, the Government is proposing increased grants under the Local Employment Act, 1970.
