HC Deb 25 February 1970 vol 796 c360W
Mr. Lubbock

asked the Secretary of State for Employment and Productivity to what extent employers make use of the Professional and Executive Register; and how she estimates that this compares with the use which they make of private agencies to fill posts of the kind with which the Register deals.

Mr. Dell

The only information I have available is derived from a sample survey of the recruitment practices of firms employing 100 or more workers which was conducted for the Department by outside consultants in 1967. This showed that during 1966 the firms concerned made about 4 per cent. of their management executive and technical engagements through the Professional and Executive Register and about 3 per cent. through private consultants. The great majority of the engagements were made through advertisements and some by personal contacts or other methods.
