§ Mr. Brooksasked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many hospital pharmacists have been appointed to the Liverpool Regional Hospital Board and to the hospital management committees within that area; and what proposals are now under consideration for the future representation of this profession on the area health authorities proposed in the Green Paper.
§ Mr. CrossmanThere are no hospital pharmacists currently appointed as members of these bodies. I have suggested in the Green Paper that a third of the members of each area health authority might be selected by the main health professions and that its statutory committee might include members appointed by the local professional committees. The detailed composition of the area health authorities and their statutory committees will be settled when I have considered the views that are expressed on these suggestions.
§ Mr. Brooksasked the Secretary of State for Social Services what proportion of the chief pharmacists in posts in the Liverpool Regional Hospital Board area is 354W due to retire in the next five years; and what is the present short-fall of all hospital pharmacists within the region in terms of current establishments.
