HC Deb 25 February 1970 vol 796 c340W
88. Mr. Maclennan

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will take steps to ensure that the flow of imports of beef and fat lamb is so regulated as to prevent the disruption of the home producers' market.

Mr. Hoy

We are currently discussing with the Governments of our main supplying countries, and with domestic interests, proposals for a scheme designed to improve the phasing of beef supplies from all sources on to the United Kingdom market. Our lamb imports consist predominantly of supplies from New Zealand which are already satisfactorily phased.
