asked the Minister of Transport what proportion of the money spent on rail electrification since nationalisation has been spent in England, Scotland and Wales, respectively.

Mr. Murray

During the period 1948 to 1969 inclusive, about —260 million was invested in railway electrifications. Of this. —17 million or 6½ per cent. was spent in Scotland, and none in Wales.
