HC Deb 24 February 1970 vol 796 cc300-1W
Mr. Bruce-Gardyne

asked the President of the Board of Trade by what authority he requires prior notification of an increase in the price of the Daily Telegraph in excess of 1d. in the current year, or prevents any such increase with or without prior notification.

Mr. Mason

Under the prices and incomes policy, the managements of theDaily Telegraph and of other national newspapers agreed in 1965 to give my Department early warning of proposed price increases and the arrangement has operated on this voluntary basis.
