HC Deb 23 February 1970 vol 796 cc214-5W
47 and 48. Mr. Dudley Smith

asked the Minister of Technology (1) how many conversions by the Gas Council of customers' appliances to burn natural gas have now been satisfactorily completed; what proportion on average are unsatisfactory and require follow-up; and how many are still to be converted;

(2) how many representations he has received from consumers as a result of the conversion of their appliances to natural gas; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Harold Lever

Over 1¼ million of the present 13¼ million consumers have so far been converted. About one in five conversions require further attention. One hundred and sixty representations have been received since the main programme began in April, 1968.
