Mr. Kitson

asked the Attorney-General if, in view of the correspondence he has received from the hon. Member for Richmond, Yorks, he will now refer the whole case of the collection of union contributions at the Middlesbrough General Hospital to the Director of Public Prosecutions; and if he will make a statement.

The Attorney-General

In his letter to me of the 16th February, 1970, the hon. Member refers to allegations which relate to events which occurred after the police inquiries last year. Accordingly, I have asked the Director of Public Prosecutions to arrange for these further allegations to be investigated and I will consider the matter with him when that investigation is completed.
