Mr. Bishop

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services how many health centres were built for each of the six years before 1964 and for each year since; and what further plans he has.

The numbers opened in England were 2, 0, 3, 2, 2, 1 (1958–63 inclusive) and 3, 1, 7, 12, 35, 50 (1964–69 inclusive). At 31st December last 80 health centres were under construction, and 74 more had been approved.
