asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what aid, for defence or other purposes, is to be given in the financial year 1970–71.

Subject to approval of the Estimates by the House, it is our intention to provide aid overseas in 1970–71 as outlined on pages 29 and 30 of the White Paper on Public Expenditure 1968–69 to 1973–74 (Cmnd. 4234). The sums involved, amended slightly by later forcasts, are as follows:
