§ Mr. FowlerThe provisional number of students at present undergoing courses of initial or further training in colleges of education, colleges of education (technical) and departments of education in technical colleges is 111,077. A few colleges failed to fill all their places at the beginning of the current academic year while others recruited more than their target numbers. Existing plans provide for an increase in the number of places to 119,000 over the next 3–4 years.
